Accountant II
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general direction, responsible for more complex activities associated with maintaining general ledger accounts and for developing financial statements and reports of Valley Medical Group. Maintains the integrity of financial information, accounting systems and internal control of the organization. Demonstrates strong familiarity with accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor ‘s degree in accounting or business administration required. Master ‘s degree in accounting or business administration preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum four years of progressively established, advanced, diversified accounting experience required, preferably in a hospital or medical group related field. * Public accounting experience strongly preferred; CPA preferred. * Experienced, high caliber Accountant to assist in preparing the financial statements, supporting schedules, financial review, and analysis, assist in completion of month-end closing, and financial reporting.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Advanced personal computer skills including advanced Excel spreadsheets using pivot tables, V-lookup, etc. and word processing are required. * Previous experience with Athena billing system and Meditech Accounting software is a plus, willingness to learn these systems and complete the learning modules. * Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable operating system, procedures, policies, and tasks. * Comprehensive written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational, and follow-up skills. * Demonstrates ability to manage, prioritize and meet deadlines on multiple projects. * Demonstrates professional and courteous behavior
